A Quick Timeline To Prepare For Your Wedding

Posted on

The first thing that people are going to ask you after you announce your engagement is when you are getting married. That means that you are going to have to set a date. Once you have your date set, there are so many things that you are going to have to do so that you can get to the wedding of your dreams. The question is when are you supposed to do all those things? If your wedding date is some time out from the current date, there are some suggestions as to when you should do those things.

As Soon As You Set Your Date

As soon as your date is set in stone, there are some things that you need to do. The first and most important is to set a budget. Knowing how big your budget is going to be will have a significant impact on all the rest of your decisions from here on out. Once you have set your budget, it's time to start negotiating your guest list. There are so many people that you are going to want, your fiance is going to want, and various parents are going to want. This is the time to start figuring how you are going to decide who is going to your wedding and who isn't.

Around 10 Months Out

Between 8 and 10 months out, there are some really important things that you need to do. Women need to start looking at gowns so that they can find the perfect one. It will take time for the dress to be fitted correctly and other such things, so you want to make sure that there is plenty of time. This is also the time to start looking at wedding and reception venues, such as Rainbow Gardens. If you are wanting to go to a popular venue, then the sooner you can get in, put your deposit down, and lock your date and time in, the better off you are. It's also a good time to start doing research on photographers, caterers, etc.

Around 6 Months Out

This is the time to start planning for your honeymoon. If you are going to a foreign country, make sure that you have a current passport, a visa if necessary, and any necessary shots. This is also the time to start fittings for your wedding dress to make sure that it will fit you.

Day/Night Before

Double check with all the vendors to make sure that they are ready to go and that they have an emergency number to get ahold of someone in the wedding party. Rehearse your wedding, relax with everyone at a dinner afterward. Try to make sure that you get plenty of sleep the night before so that you are ready to go.

If you are going to get married, there are a lot of things you need to do to get ready.
